Dubbed “a 21st Century Renaissance Man” by the Washington Post, Powell is a choreographer, composer, painter, sculptor, photographer, filmmaker, graphic designer, and writer. A native Washingtonian, he is a 1995 graduate of the Juilliard School. He has won numerous awards for his choreography and music, and his dance films have been featured at the Hirshhorn Museum, Dance Place, and the Kennedy Center. He has been a contributing photographer with Washington Life Magazine for 3 years and his photographic clients include VOGUE Magazine, The Washington Ballet, The Corcoran Gallery of Art, The Four Seasons Spa, Goldman Sachs, Neiman Marcus, Cartier, The Roosevelt Institute, Jim Kimsey, Esther Coopersmith, and the embassies of Kuwait, Denmark, and Afghanistan.
